The short answer

The Antminer S23e U2H is a Bitmain hydro-cooled Bitcoin miner built in a 2U server-rack chassis. It does 865 TH/s at 8,650 W, which is 10 J/TH, the biggest hashrate in any 2U Antminer. Bitmain pushed it at its Hong Kong summit on 28 August 2026 with a one-month launch price of $11 per TH. At OneMiners it is listed at $9,520.76, about $11.01 per TH.

Most Bitcoin miners are boxes that sit on a shelf. The S23e U2H is different: it is shaped like a data-centre server, slides onto rack rails, and plugs into a water loop. That shape is the whole point, and it changes who should buy it. This guide explains the specs, what 2U really means, what it costs to own over five years, and what it can mine.

What does 2U mean, and why does it matter?

U is the standard height unit of a server rack: 1U is 44.45 mm (1.75 inches). A 2U machine is about 89 mm tall and 19 inches (483 mm) wide, so it fits the same racks and rails as data-centre servers. A standard full-height rack has 42U of space.

Hashrate per rack unit is the number that matters in a rack-based hall. The U2H packs 433 TH/s into every 1U of height, more than the 3U models:

Hashrate per 1U of rack height

TH/s per rack unit (higher is better)

03

How much power does a rack of S23e U2H miners need?

This is the catch. A 42U rack could physically hold 21 U2H units: about 18.2 PH/s. But 21 units draw 182 kW. Most ordinary data-centre racks are built for a small fraction of that, which is why the U2H belongs in purpose-built hydro halls where the power feed and coolant loop are sized for it.

One fully loaded rack would use about as much electricity as 153 average US homes. In practice a hall fits as many units per rack as its power and cooling allow.

One Antminer S23e U2H uses as much electricity as about 7.3 US homes

6,314 kWh a month vs 865 kWh for an average US home

Each house = one average US household (EIA, 2024: 865 kWh a month). Miner runs 24/7, 730 hours a month.

04

Is the S23e U2H new?

Not quite. 2U versions of the S23e reached the market in batches earlier in 2026. What changed at the World Digital Mining Summit on 28 August 2026 was the official push: Bitmain offered it for one month at $11 per TH, less than half the $25.5 per TH it set for the new S23 XP Hyd flagship the same day. That window has closed at Bitmain. At OneMiners the price is still about $11.01 per TH.

Antminer S21e XP Hyd 3U 860 TH/s 13.0 J/TH 3U rack chassis $7,499 $8.72
Antminer S23 XP Hyd 600 TH/s 8.9 J/TH Standard hydro unit $14,799 $24.66
Antminer S23 Hyd 580 TH/s 9.5 J/TH Standard hydro unit $12,299 $21.21

Prices from the OneMiners shop, 22 October 2026. Prices change; check the product page before you order.

The U2H is one of the cheapest hydro miners per TH in the shop, and it gets there at 10 J/TH. The Antminer S21e XP Hyd 3U is cheaper per TH but uses 13 J/TH, so it costs about 30% more in power for every terahash. The Antminer S23 Hyd 3U is more efficient (9.5 J/TH) but costs more than twice as much per TH.

06

What does an S23e U2H really cost over five years?

Price per TH only tells half the story. Over five years of running 24/7, the electricity often costs more than the miner itself. This chart splits each Bitcoin miner's five-year cost per TH into hardware and power, at an example 5 cents per kWh.

What each miner really costs over five years

Price + five years of electricity, per TH/s, at an example 5 cents per kWh. Shorter = cheaper.

Hardware (price / TH)5 years of electricity
S23e U2H$33 per TH
miner $11 + electricity $22
S21e XP Hyd 3U$37 per TH
miner $9 + electricity $28
S21 XP Hyd$39 per TH
miner $13 + electricity $26
S23 Hyd$42 per TH
miner $21 + electricity $21
S23 XP Hyd$44 per TH
miner $25 + electricity $19
S23 Hyd 3U$45 per TH
miner $24 + electricity $21

Hardware price from the OneMiners shop + 5 years x 365 days x 24 hours x watts at 5 cents/kWh, divided by TH/s. Example power price, not a OneMiners rate.

At 5 cents, the S23e U2H has the lowest five-year cost per TH of these six machines: $32.9. Electricity is the bigger slice for every machine, which is why efficiency matters even when the hardware is cheap. At higher power prices the more efficient S23 models close the gap.

07

How much can the S23e U2H mine per day?

Daily revenue

865 TH/s x $0.0359 per TH per day

= $31.07 a day before pool fees

Hashprice on 22 October 2026, from mempool.space network data.

_Past network data, not a forecast. Mining revenue moves every day with the Bitcoin price, the network hashrate and fees, and nothing here is a promise of future results._

Antminer S23e U2H: one day of mining at four power prices

Power price Revenue / day Power cost / day Left after power
4 cents $31.07 $8.30 $22.76
5 cents $31.07 $10.38 $20.69
6 cents $31.07 $12.46 $18.61
8 cents $31.07 $16.61 $14.46

Network numbers from mempool.space, 22 October 2026: Bitcoin at $81,962, network hashrate about 1,033 EH/s, so each TH/s earned about 3.59 cents a day (hashprice $35.92 per PH/s per day) before pool fees. Electricity prices are examples, not quotes.

Check it at your own power price in the OneMiners profitability calculator.

Breakeven power price

0.0359 / (10 x 0.024)

= 15.0 cents per kWh

Below this electricity price the U2H earns more than its power costs at today's network numbers. For comparison: S23 XP Hyd 16.8 cents, S21e XP Hyd 3U 11.5 cents.

08

What do you need to run an S23e U2H?

1

A rack and a hydro loop

The U2H has coolant couplings, not fans. Without a coolant manifold, pumps and a heat exchanger it cannot run.

At OneMiners: Hydro halls in Houston and the UAE.

2

About 8.7 kW per unit, all day

That is 208 kWh a day for one machine.

At OneMiners: Power is metered per miner in the app.

3

Industrial power

Check the exact voltage and connector on the spec sheet for your batch; listings do not agree.

At OneMiners: We confirm the electrical spec before install.

4

Space planned around power

A rack of U2H units runs out of power and cooling long before it runs out of slots.

At OneMiners: Racks are loaded to the hall's power budget.

Bolting a single 2U miner to a shelf at home wastes what you paid for. If you do not already run a hydro hall, hosting is the simple route. Current rates are on the hosting centers page.

Words to know

2U / rack unit

Server-rack height. 1U = 44.45 mm; a 2U device is about 89 mm tall. A full rack is 42U.

19-inch rack

The standard data-centre rack width (483 mm across the mounting ears). The U2H is built to it.

TH/s (terahash per second)

How many trillion guesses a Bitcoin miner makes every second. More TH/s = a bigger share of the daily Bitcoin reward.

J/TH (joules per terahash)

Electricity used for each terahash. It is the miner's fuel economy: lower is better.

Hydro cooling

Liquid flows through cold plates on the chips and carries the heat away. No fans, so it is quieter and runs denser.

CDU (coolant distribution unit)

The pumps and heat exchanger that move coolant between the Bitcoin miners and the outdoor cooler.
