Hosting is priced per kWh. Here is what should be inside that rate, and how to work out your Bitcoin miner's monthly bill in under a minute.
By Michal Beno, CEO, OneMiners22 October 2026
Bitcoin miner hosting is priced per kWh of electricity your miner uses. At OneMiners that rate already covers the building, cooling, installation, monitoring and on-site maintenance. Today it runs from 3.6 cents (Nigeria, 7-year prepaid) to 9.5 cents (Czechia, pay as you go). One Antminer S21 Pro costs about $174 a month to host in Texas.
If you are new to hosting, the price can look confusing. Some companies quote a monthly fee per machine, some quote a rate per kWh, and some add set-up fees, repair fees and management fees on top. This guide explains how hosting is priced, what should be inside the rate, and how to work out the real monthly cost of any Bitcoin miner in under a minute.

What is Bitcoin miner hosting?
A Bitcoin miner is loud, hot and hungry for power. Running one at home means a noisy room, a big electricity bill and wiring that was never built for a machine drawing 3,000 to 11,000 watts all day. Hosting means a professional data centre runs your miner for you. You own the Bitcoin miner and you keep what it mines. The hosting company provides the power, the cooling, the internet connection and the people who fix things.
Because electricity is by far the biggest running cost, almost every serious host prices by the kilowatt-hour (kWh). The more power your miner draws, the more you pay. A small, efficient machine costs less to host than a big hydro unit.
What should be inside the rate
Two hosts can quote the same rate and charge very different totals. Before you compare, check what each rate includes. At OneMiners every site page says the same thing: the price includes all management services. In practice that covers:
Electricity for your miner, billed only for the energy it actually uses.
Space and cooling in a purpose-built facility (air, hydro or immersion, depending on the site).
Installation and set-up at the site you choose.
Monitoring and remote control through the OneMiners app and dashboard, including remote restarts.
On-site maintenance by the local team, backed by a 7-year hardware warranty on miners bought from OneMiners (it covers defects, not normal wear or consumable parts).
An uptime guarantee of 95%+ (sites average 98%+).
When another provider quotes you a lower number, ask what is missing. A cheap rate plus a set-up fee, a monthly management fee and paid repairs can easily cost more.
The three prices you will see on every OneMiners site
Example: OneMiners Texas
| Price type | Who it is for | Texas, USA |
|---|---|---|
| Online-ordered | Bitcoin miners bought on oneminers.com | 6.5c / kWh |
| External | Bitcoin miners you bring yourself | 7.1c / kWh |
| 7-year prepaid | Energy paid in advance for 7 years, price locked | 4.5c / kWh |
Rates as shown on oneminers.com site pages, 19 October 2026. Prepaid tiers are 4%, 12% and 30% off the online-ordered rate, rounded down to 0.1 cent.
Miners bought from OneMiners get the lower online-ordered rate. Miners you ship in yourself pay the external rate, about 10% more. Paying for energy in advance gives a discount: 4% for 1 year, 12% for 3 years and 30% for 7 years. That is how Texas drops from 6.5 to 4.5 cents.
How to work out your monthly hosting cost
kWh per month = watts ÷ 1,000 × 24 × 30.4
Monthly cost = kWh per month × rate per kWh
Watts are printed on every product page. The Antminer S21 Pro draws 3,675 W, so it uses about 2,683 kWh a month.

Same Bitcoin miner, same site. Locking the price for 7 years cuts the bill by about $54 a month, or $4,507 over the full term.
Antminer S23 Hyd hosted in Nigeria
A bigger hydro miner draws more power, so the rate matters even more. Nigeria is OneMiners' lowest-cost site.
Hosting vs mining at home
Is hosting really cheaper than plugging the miner in at home? For most people, yes, by a wide margin. The average US household paid a forecast 18.2 cents per kWh in 2026, according to the US Energy Information Administration. That is almost three times a OneMiners hosting rate.

Power is only part of the story. At home you also deal with:
Noise. An air-cooled Bitcoin miner is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner, all day and all night.
Heat. Almost every watt turns into heat, so you need serious airflow or cooling.
Wiring. Big miners need a dedicated high-power circuit, and many homes simply cannot supply it.
Downtime. When something breaks, you fix it yourself, and the miner earns nothing while it waits.

Five questions to ask any hosting provider
Before you sign
What exactly is in the rate?
Power only, or power plus installation, monitoring and repairs? Get it in writing.
Is there an uptime guarantee?
A real guarantee has a number. OneMiners guarantees 95%+.
Can I see and control my miner?
You should be able to see hashrate and status live, and restart the miner remotely.
Can I lock the price?
Ask whether a fixed rate is available, and for how long. OneMiners offers 1, 3 and 7 years.
Who owns the hardware?
You should. Your miner, your payouts, your choice of where it runs.
kWh
A kilowatt-hour: 1,000 watts for one hour. The unit electricity is sold in.
Online-ordered rate
The pay-as-you-go hosting rate for miners bought on oneminers.com.
External rate
The rate for miners you bring yourself, about 10% higher.
Prepaid tier
Energy bought in advance for 1, 3 or 7 years at a fixed, discounted rate.
Uptime
The share of time your miner is running. Higher uptime means more time mining.
We publish every rate for every site, and every prepaid rate can be checked with a calculator: it is the online-ordered rate minus 4%, 12% or 30%. If a host will not tell you what your miner will cost each month, that tells you something too.
