Five real Bitcoin miners, seven years of electricity, two ways to pay. Plus the five-step sum to price any miner yourself.
By Michal Beno, CEO, OneMiners4 November 2026
On every Bitcoin miner we priced, the 7-year fixed rate cuts the electricity bill by about 31% — from about $3,606 saved on an Antminer S21 Pro to $7,039 on a WhatsMiner M63S+. The bigger the miner's power draw, the more the fixed rate is worth.
Percentages are easy to nod at and hard to feel. So in this guide we take five real Bitcoin miners from the OneMiners shop, look up how much power each one draws, and price seven years of electricity two ways: pay as you go, and the 7-year fixed rate. Then we show you how to run the same numbers for any miner you like.
All examples use Nigeria, OneMiners' lowest-cost site: 5.2 cents per kWh pay as you go, 3.6 cents on the 7-year fixed rate. We assume each miner runs 24 hours a day, every day. Prices and specs were read from oneminers.com on 19 October 2026.
Meet the five Bitcoin miners

Antminer S21 Pro
245 TH/s · 3,675 W · 15.0 J/TH
88 kWh a day

Antminer S23
318 TH/s · 3,498 W · 11.0 J/TH
84 kWh a day

Antminer S21 XP Hyd
473 TH/s · 5,676 W · 12.0 J/TH
136 kWh a day

Antminer S23 Hyd
580 TH/s · 5,510 W · 9.5 J/TH
132 kWh a day

WhatsMiner M63S+
422 TH/s · 7,174 W · 17.0 J/TH
172 kWh a day
The two numbers that matter here are watts (how much power it draws) and J/TH (how much energy it needs per unit of work — lower is better). Watts decide the size of the power bill. J/TH tells you how much mining you get for that bill.
Step by step: how to price a miner's electricity
Five steps, any miner
Find the watts
It is on the product page. Example: the Antminer S23 draws 3,498 W.
Turn watts into kWh per day
3,498 ÷ 1,000 × 24 = 84.0 kWh a day.
Turn that into a year
84.0 × 365 = about 30,642 kWh a year.
Multiply by the price
At 5.2 cents: 30,642 × $0.052 = $1,593 a year. At 3.6 cents: $1,103 a year.
Multiply by seven
Pay as you go: $11,154. Fixed: $7,722. Difference: $3,432.
That is it. Five lines on a calculator tell you what seven years of power will cost. Now let's do it for all five at once.
Seven years of electricity, side by side
Nigeria, miner running 24/7
| Bitcoin miner | kWh a year | Pay as you go | Fixed | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antminer S21 Pro | 32,193 | $11,718 | $8,113 | $3,606 |
| Antminer S23 | 30,642 | $11,154 | $7,722 | $3,432 |
| Antminer S21 XP Hyd | 49,722 | $18,099 | $12,530 | $5,569 |
| Antminer S23 Hyd | 48,268 | $17,569 | $12,163 | $5,406 |
| WhatsMiner M63S+ | 62,844 | $22,875 | $15,837 | $7,039 |
Pay as you go at 5.2c/kWh vs 7-year fixed at 3.6c/kWh. Rates as shown on oneminers.com site pages, 19 October 2026. Prepaid tiers are 4%, 12% and 30% off the online-ordered rate, shown rounded down to 0.1 cent.
Electricity cost you keep with the 7-year fixed rate
Seven years, per Bitcoin miner, Nigeria
Pay-as-you-go cost minus 7-year fixed cost, same energy use.
Across all five Bitcoin miners together the fixed rate keeps about $25,051 of electricity cost over seven years. The pattern is simple: the more watts, the more you keep. A big hydro miner like the WhatsMiner M63S+ draws twice the power of an S21 Pro, so the same 30% discount is worth twice as much in dollars.
The surprising part: power can cost as much as the miner
Here is a number most new miners never think about. The Antminer S23 Hyd costs $12,299 today. Seven years of its electricity on the fixed rate costs $12,163. They are almost the same.
Antminer S23 Hyd: machine vs seven years of power
Over its life, a Bitcoin miner's electricity is a purchase as big as the miner itself. That is why serious miners shop for a power price as carefully as they shop for a machine.
Think of it as buying two things: the miner, and the energy to run it. Most people haggle hard over the first and forget the second. The 7-year fixed rate is simply a way of buying the second one at a 30% discount, at today's price.

Efficiency: why J/TH and the power price work together
Two things set your cost per unit of mining: how efficient the miner is (J/TH) and how much you pay per kWh. Improve either one and every terahash gets cheaper. Here is the yearly power cost for each terahash of work, on both rates:
Yearly power cost for 1 TH/s of mining
| Bitcoin miner | J/TH | Pay as you go | 7-year fixed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antminer S23 Hyd | 9.5 | $4.33 | $3.00 |
| Antminer S23 | 11.0 | $5.01 | $3.47 |
| Antminer S21 XP Hyd | 12.0 | $5.47 | $3.78 |
| Antminer S21 Pro | 15.0 | $6.83 | $4.73 |
| WhatsMiner M63S+ | 17.0 | $7.74 | $5.36 |
Lower is better. An efficient miner on a fixed low rate has the cheapest terahash of all.
The Antminer S23 Hyd at 9.5 J/TH on the 7-year fixed rate has the cheapest terahash in the table. That combination — an efficient miner plus a locked, low power price — is what keeps a mining operation healthy when Bitcoin's price or the network difficulty moves against it.
What about the 1-year and 3-year plans?
Not everyone wants to commit for seven years. Here is what one year of power costs for an Antminer S23 on each plan in Nigeria:
One year of power for an Antminer S23
Nigeria, US dollars per year
Rates as shown on oneminers.com site pages, 19 October 2026. Prepaid tiers are 4%, 12% and 30% off the online-ordered rate, shown rounded down to 0.1 cent.
Every year on the 7-year plan costs $490 less than paying as you go for this one miner. The 1-year plan is a gentle start; the 7-year plan is where the real discount lives.
When people compare Bitcoin miners they look at hashrate and price. The miners who last also look at the power bill for the next seven years. Run the five-step sum before you buy — it takes two minutes and it is the most useful two minutes in mining.
Why Nigeria in every example?
It is OneMiners' lowest-cost site, at 3.6 cents on the 7-year rate. The same 30% applies at every site; only the starting price changes.
Do these numbers include Bitcoin earnings?
No. This guide is only about the electricity cost. Earnings depend on the Bitcoin price and network difficulty, which change.
Is 24/7 realistic?
Close. OneMiners guarantees 95%+ uptime and its sites average 98%+. Pay-as-you-go billing is real-time, so you only pay while the miner runs.
Can I put several miners on one prepaid plan?
Yes. A prepaid plan can cover one miner or many.
Pick a Bitcoin miner, then lock its power price for seven years.
