First, the stakes: you are buying terahash, not efficiency
On Bitcoin, hardware selection is an efficiency argument. Hashprice is low, electricity is the dominant cost, and a machine at 9.5 J/TH beats a machine at 23 J/TH because power is most of the bill.
BTCB2 currently inverts that. Electricity at a hosted rate runs between $0.83 and $2.91 per machine per day against gross revenue in the tens of dollars — a few percent. When power is a rounding error, the thing you are really buying is raw hashrate, and the sensible question becomes how many dollars a terahash costs you.
That is the whole selection logic, and it produces an uncomfortable ranking: the two cheapest machines in the catalogue are the two best buys, and the two most expensive are not. The payback arithmetic behind that claim is worked through in full separately.

Note what the efficiency column does not do: it does not track price. The most efficient machine here, the BM-S3 at 163.2 J/TH, is 38% more efficient than the least efficient, and every one of these machines is roughly twenty-five times less efficient per terahash than a current Bitcoin miner. On this chain that is survivable. It will not always be.

Goldshell SC5 Pro II — the value pick
14 TH/s for $2,399 is the cheapest terahash on the page by a clear margin, and at 55 dB it is among the quietest units here despite drawing 3,300 W. It is the largest machine physically (370×305×450 mm, 13.1 kg) and the least efficient of the Goldshells at 235.7 J/TH, neither of which costs you much while power is a few percent of revenue.

At $421/TH you pay roughly two and a half times the SC5 Pro II's rate for that. Buy it when hashrate density is the constraint — limited rack slots, limited shipping, or a plan to keep mining after revenue normalises and efficiency starts deciding things.

4.4 TH/s, 950 W, 55 dB, and a common C13 connector on 110–240 V. That last detail is the whole point: it is the only machine here that plugs into an ordinary domestic outlet in North America without a dedicated circuit. $682/TH is expensive hashrate, and you are buying convenience and legality-at-home rather than throughput.

Five of these six machines need a 200–240 V supply on a C19 connector, draw around 3 kW continuously, and make between 55 and 80 dB of noise. That is a workshop, a garage or a facility — not a spare bedroom.
The other consideration is the tariff. A 3.3 kW machine consumes 28,908 kWh a year, and what that costs depends entirely on where the machine sits.
