Kaspa mining is the thinnest-margin business in this catalogue, and that makes it the most honest test of a hosting rate there is. The whole network earns $0.1736 per terahash per day. At that revenue level, a machine's efficiency and your electricity price do not merely affect the return — together they decide whether there is a return at all. Two of the three machines compared here are marginal at the network-average rate, and all three lose money on retail power.

The Antminer KS7 at 40 TH/s and 77 J/TH. It is the only kHeavyHash machine in the catalogue with a clear margin, netting about $3.40 per day at $0.0480/kWh for a payback of 16.9 months. The IceRiver KS7 nets $1.18 and the KS5 Pro effectively nothing at $0.02. At the lowest industrial rate of $0.0364/kWh all three improve; on home power at $0.1200/kWh all three lose money. Efficiency is the whole game on Kaspa.

What a terahash of Kaspa is worth

Start with the network. Kaspa runs 313,662 TH/s and emits roughly 2.00 million KAS per day at a block reward of about 2.31 KAS across ten blocks per second. For scale, a terahash of Bitcoin currently earns $0.0379 per day — about 0.2 times less than a terahash of Kaspa. But Kaspa machines produce far fewer terahashes for far more power. Efficiency decides everything here

Why the KS5 Pro is the cautionary tale
The KS5 Pro costs $1,199, which looks like an accessible entry into Kaspa mining. At 150 J/TH, electricity consumes 100% of its gross revenue at the network-average rate, leaving $0.02 a day. It is not a bad machine — it is a machine whose viability depends entirely on securing power at the very bottom of the market. At $0.0364/kWh it nets $0.89; on retail power it loses $5.43 every day.

Bitcoin figures use a hashprice of $37.85 per PH/s per day, derived from a BTC price of $76,768 and a network hashrate of 912.6 EH/s (difficulty 125.81T) on 2 September 2026. That is block subsidy only — transaction fees are excluded, so the revenue side is deliberately conservative. Zcash uses 1,440 ZEC per day to miners (80% of emission after the development fund) against a 24.48 GSol/s network. Scrypt credits both chains a merged-mining unit actually earns, Litecoin and Dogecoin. Electricity is charged at the OneMiners network average of $0.0480/kWh unless a table states otherwise, with no performance or management fee, because OneMiners charges none. Payback assumes difficulty and price hold still, which they never do — treat it as a ranking tool, not a forecast.

Can I mine Kaspa with a Bitcoin miner?
No. Kaspa uses kHeavyHash and Bitcoin uses SHA-256; the silicon is not interchangeable. A KS-series machine cannot mine Bitcoin and an Antminer S23 cannot mine Kaspa.
